At the beginning of the semester, I was asked the simple question, "why do you write?" Strangely, I had never really thought about it before. By the end of the semester, I had gained so much new insight that I felt the need to re-write the paper, and answer the question differently. Below is both my original submission, and my updated answer four months later.
